lindy&ben {happily ever after}

I am always amazed at how quickly a year can go by, & I'm sure Lindy & Ben will say the same! Their wedding was simply gorgeous. Surrounded by thousands of blooming flowers, loving family & friends, & a few mosquitos, Lindy & Ben pledged their lives to one another & danced the night away. Oh, & there was Blue Bell ice cream.

1. What was your most memorable moment?
Lindy: When we were exchanging rings at the ceremony, it was hot & our fingers were so swollen that our rings wouldn’t go on! It was really funny.
Ben: Having all of our family & friends around us was awesome!

2. What were the inspirations for your wedding?
We wanted our wedding to be fun & highlight how beautiful our venue was naturally. We tried to keep the reception flowing from place to place so that it didn’t feel like we were in one place for too long.

3. Was there anything that was not worth fussing over? In other words, did you have a bridezilla/groomzilla moment over something that was insignificant?
Before our wedding, we had met with our caterer & decided on the size & number of tables that would fit our venue. When we got there to set up the day of, what we had planned wouldn’t fit the space. We ended up having to throw our seating chart out the window & just told our guests to sit wherever they wanted. I am so grateful for the mistake. Our families were mixed together with our friends & we honestly couldn’t have made a seating chart that worked so well! Everyone said it was fun sitting with people they didn’t know & felt like they knew us better since they were able to meet people that were important to us that they might have never talked to otherwise.

4. Any advice for those planning now?
Don’t stress over little things, we had lots of random little things messed up, like forgetting the bread for communion. No one will have a clue besides you. Our wedding was perfect & we have so many more memories now because of the little things that didn’t go as planned.

Tell me about married life!

1. What has been the easiest/hardest parts about adjusting to married life?
We’ve been blessed to have had a relatively easy first year of marriage. Realizing things that annoy one another & then not doing them was an adjustment since we’ve lived together. Living together is awesome, though. We were long distance before we got married, & have loved being able to spend lots of time together.

2. What's been the most surprising thing you've learned about each other?
We were together for 3 years before we got engaged & almost 4 years when we got married. I can’t think of anything surprising.

3. What do you guys do to spend time together? Do you have weekly dates? something nightly? monthly?
We are both Young Life leaders & spend time serving there together. We spend a lot of time these days at the dog park with our German Shorthaired Pointer, Goose. We don’t always call them dates, but we do go out to dinner fairly often & have planned date nights once a month. We also love to cook together.

4. What did you do, or will you do, to celebrate your one year anniversary?
We are going to Sanibel Island, Florida in June (once Lindy is off for the summer) to celebrate & get away for a few days.
