heather&clint {destination wedding} cozumel, mexico

I couldn't think of a better way to ring in the new year than with a cruise to Cozumel to photograph Heather & Clint's beach wedding. I don't know many people who love cruises more than Heather & Clint, so choosing one for their wedding was a no-brainer. This wedding had a lot of firsts for me! First beach wedding. First Monday morning wedding. First "spend the week with the 87 of the bride & groom's closest friends & relatives" wedding. So much fun!

We set sail out of Galveston on Saturday afternoon & arrived in Cozumel two days later. I'll admit I was little disappointed in the weather aboard the ship. I was fully expecting it to be a lot warmer on the deck of the boat than it was. Maybe I thought there was a magical climate bubble around the entire boat keeping out the January chill?? I don't know, but I guess I can't complain too much. haha

Today's post focuses only on the wedding day, but trust me that there were plenty of laughs, quality napping & reading time, & too much molton chocolate cake throughout the rest of the week. Good times were had by all.

The wedding day started rather early with 7am hair appointments in the ship's salon, & I know quite a bit of coffee was consumed...by me at least. We were docked at 8am & couldn't get off the boat until then. Since the ceremony started at 10am, we had to make a mad dash to the taxi cab line to take us to Mr. Sancho's resort 20 minutes away. Lucky for us, there were several large vans.

Who needs extra decorations when you have such gorgeous skies & water for your backdrop? A simple canopy & a few palm trees are the perfect compliments to such a backdrop. I need a hammock with this view.

Victory dance down the aisle!

After the first dance & cake cutting, it was beach time!

In a group this large on vacation together, there are bound to be a few accidents. Luckily, only one of us had to get stitches & miss the wedding ceremony, & I'm glad it wasn't me.
