Ah, December/Christmas weddings. So beautiful & festive! I just love poinsettias & Christmas lights everywhere. Surrounded by an incredible group of friends, family, & gorgeous organ music, Erin & Cal pledged themselves to each other.

The ceremony was held at the beautiful Hyde Park Baptist Church in Austin where Erin's parents were married. Erin even got dressed in the same room her mom did! Then the celebration moved to The Austin Club in downtown Austin where the live band kept the dance floor going & the food was impeccable.

Matt Johnson from FilmStrong Productions videoed the wedding & had asked Cal why he & Erin were getting married. Cal's answer was so poetic I had to share this with you all:

She's the one. We began with a simple friendship. Lots of trust. I didn't lose any respect for her. The more I knew Erin, the more I wanted to know her. I knew her family, her childhood. As we grew, I experienced God's hands pushing them together. Now it was real. MARRIAGE! Then I prayed. By the time we were at the proposal I already knew & his mind was just catching up with him. It has been a constant escalation of me respecting Erin. There is strength in that bond.

Guys, take note. This is how you're supposed to go after the garter.

The Blind Date was the entertainment for the evening, & boy did they know how to keep the party going!

A horse-drawn carriage was waiting to whisk the happy couple off into the night, which was a surprise for Erin. What these pictures don't show is how the horse started panicking right after Erin & Cal got into the carriage. It got scary for several very long seconds, but I'm happy nothing & no one was hurt. It was a memorable way to end the day!
